17thEUPHOREA Meeting | October 14th 2020

The first virtual EUPHOREA meeting in the history of EUPHOREA has now taken place. With nine years of successful meetings with physical attendance twice a year all over Europe behind us, it was a bit exciting how this would go.

Well, I am very pleased to say it went really well! Professor Richard Lyon and the Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance Trust did a fantastic job facilitating the meeting both prior to, during and after the meeting and everything went smoothly. At one point there were 60-some participants listening in and many were also eager to contribute to the discussions after each talk, both orally and in the chat box.

Although a physical meeting at the Nutfield Priory & Spa Hotel by far would have been preferable as far as mingling and building networks are concerned, these past months of Covid-19-forced virtual meeting training fortunately has given us plenty of practice in attending virtual meetings.

However, even if there were a record number of participants this time, there were some that did not have the opportunity to attend (and some wish to hear the talks again), which is why all talks were recorded. Please find a link to each speaker’s talk below. Note that only the talks were recorded, not the subsequent discussions.

Despite the success of this virtual 17th EUPHOREA meeting, it remains to be seen whether this is the new way of conducting future EUPHOREA meetings.
